About the Webinar

Join this presentation from the authors of the 2022 Canadian Pension Climate Report Card. In this report, released January 2023, Shift analyzed the climate plans of eleven Canadian pension funds. We found that, as a sector, Canada’s largest pension funds’ climate plans are not on track to protect their beneficiaries’ retirement security while ensuring a safe climate.

In this presentation, we’ll summarize key report findings, outline what actions Canadian pension funds still need to take on climate, highlight promising examples from both Canadian and international pensions, and give you a sense of how your pension stacked up.

Pensions covered in the report include:

  • Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo)

  • British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI)

  • Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ)

  • Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB)

  • Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)

  • Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO)

  • Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS)

  • OPSEU Pension Trust (OPTrust)

  • Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP)

  • Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP)

  • University Pension Plan (UPP)
